BMW 700 adverts from the 60s






These are some fabulous retro examples of rather less sophisticated BMW ads from the 1960s. The BMW 700s are small and cute and certainly not conveying the aspirational alpha male stereo-type ads of the 80s 90s and beyond. The car looks a little like early Dutch belt driven Daf? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DAF_66 Great period ads..

    The red 700 in the top picture looks like a bit like a Trabant from the side? Not one of Munichs' better efforts even in exciting coupe form.

    Looking at the first image again I love how they have used the colours and the wind trials to show speed. It's interesting how advertising has changed over the years
